August 2010 :: Recording "almost" complete.....
The guys have finally emerged from the deepest darkest pits known to mere mortals as "the practice studio" and have finally begun recording the new material for the as yet untitled release at "Studio Lloydman". Recording began  on August 14th, with Matt Moore once again at the Engineering helm.  Work started with Lloyd laying down his drum parts through Saturday Sunday and Monday. Nat, Dean and Chris then travelled up Monday morning, with Chris recording his guitar tracks followed by Nat doing his bass tricks (which takes a lot less time than Chris) and Dean finally finishing off the session with his vocals.

However, recording won't actually finish until around October as Chris explained guitarist Andy's absence from the session - "...that slacker is on holiday/honeymoon as we speak and won't return from Spain until the end of August! Getting married, call that an excuse???!!! (Good luck mate, hope it all goes well). I think the plan at the minute is to record Andy mid October over a long weekend (assuming he can remember how to play after all that time off that is) and then its simply mixing and mastering to be done."

Errrr....Did you say "simply" Chris?.........

March 2010 :: New album details
After quite a long spell writing Thirteenth Sign now have all tracks written for the new album. As before, this release will feature 9 songs, including a monster epic over 12 minutes long to round the whole thing off. Founding member and Guitarist, Chris Hubbard had this to say about the new albums; "The new songs generally are a lot heavier and darker than the first CD so hopefully this will appeal to the masses! We've played some new ones live already with some more coming up. Lloyd already has all the artwork/cover either already finished or sorted and knowing what he's doing and it all looks really cool. The next question is recording..."

As with so many "concrete" plans, recording has been delayed for a short while. The band were due to enter the studio at the end of this month to record with Paul Allander from Cradle Of Filth at the production helm. But alas, Cradles own recording schedule has had setbacks and the knock on affect has meant Thirteenth Sign have been shunted back into what Chris referred to as "recording oblivion".  Much as the band were keen to work with Paul, they are now looking at their original idea of recording the album themselves, with a sound-proof studio being frantically built at drummer Lloyd Stringers new gaff. Chris has stated "We're planning a test recording session for the weekend of April 17th, depending on how good or bad the results will determine whether we record and produce the album ourselves"

Aug 2008 :: Ddrum - Axis - Silverfox :: Artist Details
Thirteenth Sign drummer, Lloyd has been testing gear all week and has now signed endorsment deals with Silverfox Drumsticks, Axis Percussion and Ddrum.

This is what he has to say about his new products:

'Firstly, thanks to all companies on board - all this new gear is simply awesome. The sticks are really well balanced and longlasting which makes them ideal for this kind of drumming. The Axis A Longboards that I am now using are a stroke of genius - they are very well engineered and allow much more precission for quick patterns - much more efficient than chain driven pedals too being direct drive. After testing various triggers, I am now using a combination of Ddrum pro triggers and ddrum redshot triggers. They are really responsive too which makes them easy to set up with my DM5. At some point in the not too distant future, my new Ddrum kit will be arriving too... I'm not giving anythign away at this point, but it's going to be pretty sick.....'
